2015 Ford F-150 Recalls and VIN Lookup
The VIN determines whether a particular campaign applies.
A model-year recall list can tell you which campaigns have involved some 2015 F-150 trucks, but only a vehicle-specific check can establish what is currently open on your truck.
Use Ford’s recall lookup rather than relying solely on a model-year list. Record campaign status and dealer work orders.
Why the VIN matters
Recall populations can depend on build dates, components, assembly plant or other details. Enter your 17-character vehicle identification number in Ford’s official recall tool. If you are in Canada, also check local Ford Canada or Transport Canada information.
Transmission recall 26S28
In April 2026 Ford reported the unintended 6R80 downshift safety concern for certain 2015–2017 F-150 vehicles. Ford now lists a PCM software update remedy, made available in July 2026, with additional remedy details on its official FAQ. This is more current than older articles suggesting that the investigation is still awaiting a recall decision.
How to follow through
If the truck is affected, contact a Ford dealer about campaign instructions and available parts or software. Ask for written confirmation of completion. If you previously paid for related repairs, ask Ford about any applicable reimbursement process rather than assuming eligibility.
What a recall is not
A technical service bulletin describes a repair procedure for certain symptoms or conditions. It is not automatically a free recall. A common owner complaint and an NHTSA investigation are also not the same as an open recall for your VIN.
