2015 F-150 Transmission Fluid Type and Capacity
The 6R80 transmission uses the Ford-specified fluid, but a dry capacity is not a refill quantity.
The 2015 F-150 six-speed automatic transmission requires the proper Ford specification and service method. Its published capacity is not the amount to add after a routine service.

Do not fill it from the dry-capacity figure
Ford labels the 13.1-quart figure as an approximate dry-fill capacity. Fluid remaining in a transmission and torque converter after service can change the actual refill substantially.
Use the right fluid
The manual explicitly warns that a transmission requiring MERCON LV must not be filled with a different fluid. A shop should confirm the current specification and use the proper fluid-level testing procedure.
If the transmission already shifts badly
Document symptoms and codes before authorizing a fluid service as a cure. Certain 2015–2017 vehicles also have a VIN-dependent safety recall concerning unintended downshifts, which should be checked separately.

I own a 2015 Ford F-150 and plan to add real observations, photos and maintenance notes to these guides. I won't present an untested repair as something I've personally done.
